Installing 12v outlet in your top box
I have seen a lot of riders installing a 12v outlet on their dash or handlebars but seeing as that is a bit of a security issue here in SA because of the thieves wondering around at the intersections just waiting to grab your stuff and run.
So the idea is to have the outlet and whatever you are charging, locked away in the rear.
I will however at a later stage install an outlet in the dash also to accommodate GPS units for long distance riding but for now it will not be necessary.
Please do not attempt to tap power from the rear running lights as it will not be sufficient. Rather run a seperate lead from you battery to your switch and 12 V outlet, also do not forget to place an inline fuse as close to the battery terminal as possible.
