Installing a SM Polisports front fender
Ever wondered why there is so much wind steer at high speed on the KLR650? Well one look at that duck bill front fender and it shouldn't be too difficult to figure it out. The large stock fender acts like a sail when driving at speeds and steers the bike for you if there is any hint of a cross wind. I opted to go for the SM Polisports fender as i think it looks sexy but there are other options that will also fit albeit not an exact fit. All of these aftermarket fenders will need to have the mounting holes ported just a little bit to make them line up with the bracket on the bike.
First lets take a look at that stock fender

Remove the old fender by unscrewing the 4 bolts that hold it in place. It should come of without a hassle.

Remove the speedometer cable from the front wheel and pull it out of the stock fender bracket.

Remember to but blue threadlocker on the bolts when installing the new fender or they will eventually come loosen themselves.
