KLR650 Charging Port
Having to take the seat and\or the fairing off on any motorbike just to charge the battery is a tedious task and I thought that installing an easy accessible charging port would be a nice upgrade. In fact after the initial install on the KLR, I loved the idea so much that i have also included this upgrade for my caged vehicles also, and it has worked out fabulous so far.
The concept is quite simple. Just attach a 12V male socket connector to your charger and a 12V female socket to your bike battery. Include an inline fuse and keep the wires nice and short and use a thick gauge wire.
I picket up one of these cigarette lighter expansion sets with weather proof caps for a good price from an automotive shop and then just clipped them of and used them on my vehicles.

This male end is permanently connected to the charger |

Now, when ever you need to charge your battery you can just plug in and walk away. This is also ideal for when you store your horse for prolonged amounts of time as you can just plug into a slow charging unit in the same manner.
